I first met Captain Mathews in Staniel Cay, Exumas, Bahamas. We were amazed that someone would have the skills to navigate a huge trimaran drawing over six feet in waters where experienced sailors drawing three feet or less were constantly going aground or hitting coral heads. His knowledge of tides, currents and wind is amazing. He has become a legend in the Bahamas as someone who "really knows his stuff."
